SocialOffset.org Launches First Partnered Event; Attendees Can Support Local Causes in FL

International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) Leadership Summit Offers First-Ever Option to Offset State Spending and Policies

St. Pete Beach, FL – SocialOffset.org, the nonprofit platform that allows meeting attendees to align their values and their spending, counterbalancing money spent and taxes collected at meetings hosted in U.S. States with laws that are contrary to their values, is pleased to announce its first official event partnership this week.

Working with the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) the organizations partnered to offer ISHLT Leadership Summit attendees the opportunity to offset spending in Florida if recent state legislative and regulatory actions conflict with their personal values.

“Organizations like ISHLT are excited  to relaunch opportunities for their members to connect in person” noted SocialOffset founder and president Elena Gerstmann.

“Meanwhile, attendees can be conflicted between needing to engage with their professional networks and not wanting to support states that have enacted restrictive legislation. SocialOffset gives everyone involved a third way.”

“In-person meetings are an invaluable platform for the scientists and clinicians to make connections, share research and new therapies, and develop best practices. Our members have been eager to resume in-person meetings,” said Greg Schultz, CAE, ISHLT’s CEO.

“ISHLT’s partnership with SocialOffset gives our members an easy and vetted option to support local nonprofits and align their spending with their values.”

Schultz added, “ISHLT’s partnership with SocialOffset gives our members an easy and vetted option to support local nonprofits and align their spending with their values.”

Once an event or a location partners with SocialOffset, the organization directs funds from meeting attendees to vetted, local nonprofits to support service and action on hunger and homelessness, climate change, reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ and racial and ethnic equity.
